King of Dragon Pass is a computer game set in Glorantha (the world of the games HeroQuest, Hero Wars and RuneQuest). It blends interactive stories and resource management into an epic saga of conflict, magic, and community.

Or try the tour, for Windows (67 MB, alternate sites are 3D Downloads, CNET, or Strategy Gaming Online) or Macintosh (71 MB), which shows you one game year. And you can listen to the music!

You can purchase the original artwork that was used in the making of the game. T-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, and mouse pads featuring some of our award-winning art are also available.

People are still enjoying the game fifteen years after it was released! (See Recent Links below.)

Best of Glorantha King of Dragon Pass won three Best of Glorantha 2000 awards:
Best of the Best, Best Visual Art, and Best Playing Aid. It was designated as a Gloranthan Treasure in 2002.

King of Dragon Pass won the award for Best Visual Arts at the second annual Independent Games Festival, and was nominated for an Origins Award.

We have released an update to version 1.7, if you have the CD version.

RPGnet "It is the combination of the plot, politics, magic, warfare, resources, trade, exploration, personalities and random events that allows for a great game. A game that you can play over and over again."
Strategy Gaming Online "Promises the open minded player a novel and immersive experience not to be found in any other game I’ve ever seen. It’s not glitzy, but it’s a great game."
Electric Playground "It is challenging and satisfying. It is a great game."
our players "This game is worth skipping both sleep and work for. I have played the whole weekend and skipped work for two days now."

"Make more games like this one."

How it Works

The 2.0 development blog has an architectural overview. Or see a brief example of Opal Scripting Language, one of three languages used to develop the game.

More to the Story

We are working on a new storytelling game, Six Ages. It will be similar to King of Dragon Pass but we don’t expect to complete it before late 2016. Follow its progress on the development blog or @SixAges.
